Festival of South Asia (FSA) brings in multi-disciplinary arts and artists together to show case South Asian culture. The Gerrard India Bazaar- Toronto, along with the BIA is conducting the 14th annual Festival of South Asia co-sponsored by TD bank.
This year on July 16th and 17th at Gerrard India Bazaar – Toronto (between Greenwood Ave. and Coxwell Ave.) from Noon – 11pm, FREE admission for all!
FSA incorporates Performance Arts, Literary Arts, Visual Arts and Open-Air cinema this year. Performing Arts: Folk dancers, musicians, classical dancers, musicians, buskers and storytellers would light up the festival. Literary and Visual Arts: Influential writers of the community would debate and discuss the influence of South Asian media and Bollywood on Non-resident South Asians. Book launch at Gerrard Ashdale library is another highlight. Artists from all over the world have been invited to showcase their works on the theme of “Oneness”. Open-Air Cinema: At 9pm on both days of the festival join cinema-picnic in the open! Carry your chairs, blankets, eats and chill with the music and dance of Bollywood! This year FSA envision to make it more interactive and to engage the audiences in the cultural rides, estimated attendance is 250,000 based on previous year’s report and this festival would give everyone a slice of South Asian setting in two days.
